JavaScript

This is just to show that we can hook JavaScript handlers into SVG graphics, although the JavaScript is rather more involved than the VML equivalent. This highlights the bars as the mouse passes over them, and when a bar is clicked it accumulates the total value into the heading.

N.B. This has been updated for version-3 of the SVG viewer. The object model has been radically changed from version-2 where the bars will still light up on mouse-over but clicking on them will give you a JavaScript error. Firefox users will see the bar-edges light up, but the JavaScript to modify the subhead text has no effect at all!

You can use View,Source on the SVG page in the Adobe viewer to see how the subheading is modified as the total is accumulated.
