Presentation to the Bank for International Settlements
Basel, May 2001

This was an invited talk to the developers and development management at the BIS. The main purpose was to update the publications group with the latest information on the various vector graphic formats now available for web-based publications. The talk gave a brief overview of the 3 formats, and then continued with a much more technical discussion on the merits and drawbacks of each format.

I would like to thank the management at the BIS for setting up a very stimulating afternoon, which also helped me to clarify my thoughts on this rapidly evolving subject. The information given was (to the best of my knowledge) correct at the time it was given - it will be interesting to look back on this page with the benefit of hindsight in a few years time.
