The Metafile object is used on page layouts to add a constant element (such as a company logo) or to make a background fill for the entire page. Normally you would save the metafile with a placeable header included, which holds the size information. In this case, NewLeaf will normally use the defined size, and simply place the image with the top left corner at the top left of the box you draw.
However you can set Stretch to Fit in which case the image will be scaled to cover the entire rectangle you draw out. This would be appropriate for graded fills, such as are used in PowerPoint backgrounds.

N.B. Metafiles will not appear on reports printed using the Direct PostScript option from the viewer. They print normally on a standard Windows printer.
