When a table has tree-structured titles, you may want to omit the horizontal rule between vertically adjacent cells if the cells match in width. To have these unwanted rules omitted:

leaf.table.Merge 1

The default is 0, so that rules get drawn unless both the vertically adjacent cells are completely blank, in which case the rule is always omitted.
