The document area is the central part of the Viewer in which the current page is displayed. By default, the Viewer sets the page size so that it occupies the full width of the document area:
Alternatively, selecting the Zoom full page button on the toolbar, or the Zoom full page item in the popup menu, reduces the page size so that the entire page is visible within the document area:
When the mouse pointer is anywhere within the document area, its (x,y) coordinates are continually updated in the Pointer Coordinates status field located at the bottom right of the Viewer. Clicking the left mouse button when the mouse pointer is in the document area reduces or magnifies the size of the displayed page so it occupies the full width of the document area.
Moving around the current page
The four arrow keys (up, down, left, right) move the viewing window in the corresponding direction over the page image in the document area. For example, to see further down a page, press the down arrow key, and to see to the right of what is currently visible, press the right arrow key.
Magnifying or reducing the page image size
The Viewer allows you to reduce the size of the page image (zoom out) to check the overall layout of the displayed page, and to magnify any part of it (zoom in) to examine the detail. By default, the page is displayed so it occupies the full width of the document area. The Viewer automatically switches to this level of magnification if you click on the Zoom page width button on the tool bar or on the left mouse button when the mouse pointer is in the document area. The second standard size displays the entire page in the document area. This level of magnification occurs if you click on the Zoom full page button on the tool bar or you select the Zoom Full Page item from the popup menu (click the right mouse button when the mouse pointer is in the document area to make the popup menu appear).
In addition, you can magnify any part of the page by using the mouse to outline a rectangular area. Move the mouse pointer to one corner of the area of interest on the page, then press and hold down the left mouse button. Drag the pointer to the diagonally opposite corner of the area of interest and release the mouse button. The Viewer then displays the outlined area. Because the Viewer always displays the top edge and the full width of the area of interest, it is best to drag-select from the top left or top right corner of the area. Any part of the page lying outside the magnified image can be brought into view by using the arrow keys as described above.
