As an alternative to calling chNew with a plotting region, you can set the region as a property with:

chSet'frame' 0 0 500 200  © Letterbox

This is convenient if you want to set up everything in advance and then generate the plot with chRun. The best example in the chart workspace is Settings 7 which also shows the data window.
