RainPro always defaults to drawing tick-marks entirely outside the plotting region. However you can over-ride this by setting the appropriate tickmark style. See X-axis style and Y-axis style for details.

Note that minor ticks may only be used with the default (ntick) setting, and they are not drawn on 3D plots.
